IPR Instituted Against Hailo Patent for L&P Client Unified Patents

On February 6, 2018, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board instituted trial on all challenged claims of U.S. Patent No. 5,973,619 based on a petition for an inter partes review filed by L&P client Unified Patents.  U.S. Patent No. 5,973,619, which is owned by Hailo Technologies, LLC and is directed to a taxi dispatch and payment system, has been asserted in multiple district court cases against such companies as Uber and Lyft.
