Rachel Slade, Ph.D., Joins L&P
Laurence & Phillips IP Law (L&P) is pleased to announce that Rachel Slade, Ph.D., has joined the firm. Rachel will focus on patent prosecution and post-grant proceedings.
Rachel previously worked with both Kevin Laurence and Matt Phillips at a general practice firm. Kevin is delighted to work with Rachel again because “she has a stellar scientific background and can critically assess the IP aspects of technologies involving sophisticated chemistry.” Matt Phillips added that “Rachel’s expansive chemistry knowledge and industrial experience allow her to efficiently evaluate both the business and patentability features of chemical technologies.”

Dr. Slade brings nearly 10 years of experience to the firm, in patent-related services involving complex chemical, pharmaceutical and diagnostic technologies. Her experience includes patentability searching and analysis, patent drafting and prosecution, and patent litigation support. Prior to her legal career, Rachel worked as a bench scientist in the pharmaceutical industry for over a decade, receiving multiple patents in the process. This legal, technical, and practical experience enables her to effectively and successfully communicate with inventors, business personnel, and the Patent Office.
